Cody raced at Gator Motorplex in Willis, TX this past Saturday night. In his heat race his finished in the second position. Then he found himself starting 4th for the feature. He was racing extremely hard and was digging for his first podium finish. He got his car on bottom going into turn 3 and him and the 3rd place car made contact and Cody ended up tire hopping and locking the 2 cars together. The unfortunate thing about the situation was the other 2 cars that were not able to avoid them and made contact. Cody restarted at the rear in 6th position and found himself with 2 laps to go battling it out for 4th however he ran out of real estate and laps to capture the spot resulting in a 5th place finish on the night. Overall I feel Cody did some of his best driving of the season and he was digging deep every lap trying to advance his self. Overall I would like to say a special Thank You to Glenn Traylor and Collin Traylor for loaning us a bolt that somehow came out of our engine resulting in a major oil leak earlier in the night for Cody. Also thank you to Battarbee Racing, Gengo Racing, and H. Anderson for scrambling through all the bolts between the teams trying to find the one that would fit.
Also thank you to C&J Energy Services, Casedhole Solutions, Frank Henry Equipment, MPM, Driver Websites and Team 91 Motorsports for the support along with all of our fans, friends and family that follow and support us week in and week out. With that being said FKR Motorsports would also like to thank the EMSA racing series for putting on the shows and providing us with an opportunity to race. Your efforts are greatly appreciated, as well as all the restrictor drivers that we race with. It has been a true pleasure watching these drivers as they have progressed throughout the season.
Cody can be seen next racing at Creek County Speedway with the NOW600 Series on Aug. 21st. He is currently a top contender for their Rookie of the Year award. He has shown considerable improvement and we are hoping to finally get a strong finish racing with them on what should be a great night of racing as well.
