Cody Freeman drove his car to the best of his abilities this past Saturday night at Gator Motorplex in Willis, TX resulting in him receiving two 2nd place finishes. He started the night off by running the EMSA Feature race which was rained out back on September 14th when he had picked up the heat race win. He started outside on the front row and was fast but the leader had the faster car and while Cody could get to the back bumper a few times he never had an opportunity to make a clean pass without putting him and the leader in danger. He drove smart and was reward with his best finish in a Feature on the year.
Cody then had to regroup and line up to race a heat race for the weekly event which was an EMSA non points race. He started second row outside and found his self in the second position coming down the back straightaway on the opening lap. Even though he had a good car and a solid run he finished the heat in second position which started him on the outside of the front row for the feature.
The start of the feature it seemed Cody had a good car but it became obvious within a few laps he had a very solid second place car but the leader was driving to well and had enough speed to keep enough distance out ahead of him. Cody came home in 2nd place again which we are extremely happy of. Unfortunately as we are getting things to come together the season is coming to a close. Cody will run his final EMSA race of the year this coming Saturday at Gulf Coast Speedway and will wrap his points series with the NOW600 Series up on Oct. 26. Then we will move onto our winter racing and indoor racing schedule until next year.
