Inside Line Promotions – GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (Nov. 10, 2014) – Cody Freeman continued his top-five streak at Mountain Creek Speedway on Sunday.

Freeman registered a third-place result during the 4th annual Race on Dirt, which marked his eighth top five in as many micro sprint events at the track this season. It was also his sixth podium finish at the bullring.

The night kicked off with Freeman quickly advancing from fourth to second place during his heat race.

“In the heat race the car wouldn’t run right on the idle,” he said. “Once we got it going and fuel flowing it ran perfect. I ran second until two laps to go and then I fell to third.”

That lined Freeman up on the outside of the front row of the main event.

“The feature was awesome,” he said. “I stayed in second and I was pushing the first-place car the whole race. I tried going in higher in a turn, but the third-place car got under me.”

Freeman’s bid for the lead with approximately three laps remaining cost him a position as he finished third.

“It was a one-lane track and I could not get under him so I tried going around him,” he said. “I’d rather go for the win and get third than run second and not go for the win.”

Freeman will cap this season Nov. 28-29 at Resistol Arena in Mesquite, Texas, for the 5th annual Longhorn Shootout.
