Inside Line Promotions – LONGVIEW, Texas (Nov. 24, 2014) – Cody Freeman is taking the wings off for this weekend.

Freeman will make his first nonwing micro sprint start of the year this Friday and Saturday at the 5th annual Longhorn Shootout, which is held at Resistol Arena in Mesquite, Texas.

“I’m biting at the bit,” he said. “I can’t wait. I like nonwing a lot. In nonwing racing you can’t keep your foot in it. You roll on and off the gas and use the brake to turn. It’s a lot more difficult.”

Freeman finished 10th after being involved in a crash during the main event at the two-day show last year. This weekend’s goal is to improve on that result.

“I did really well there last year,” he said. “I’m going for a top seven. That’s a goal we can accomplish.”

Freeman has recorded a top 10 in all but four races this year and he has earned a top five in almost half of his main events.

“C&J Energy Services and I have values and beliefs that align closely together making it a great combination not only currently, but for the long term future as well,” Freeman said. “We both believe in providing top-notch equipment and professionalism to every project we are involved in. C&J Energy is willing to go that extra mile to ensure they are victorious in the end, the same as I am. They know the importance of a team and have been great Team Members of mine, helping me push myself further as not only a race car driver, but as a young man wanting a long future in the sport.”
