Inside Line Promotions – LONGVIEW, Texas (Dec. 8, 2014) – Consistency was the motto for Cody Freeman in 2014.

Freeman put together the most consistent season of his young career by capturing 14 top-five finishes and 25 top 10s in 30 micro sprint races.

“We really wanted to pick up a win or two,” he said. “We came close on several occasions, but didn’t quite get over the hurdle. I think once we get the first win the next one will be easier to come by.”

Freeman earned a dozen podium finishes, including a runner-up result five times.

“If you want to win you have to be in contention to win,” he said. “We were consistently running near the front all year. It’s only a matter of time before that translates into a victory.”

Another highlight from his season came from a pair of strong performances in Oklahoma. Freeman registered a trio of top 10s and he made the main event in all six races in the Sooner State.

“The talent level is very good in Oklahoma,” he said. “We really tested ourselves by making the long trip up there twice, but were pleased with the outcome.”

Freeman will kick off the 2015 season in Oklahoma at the 30th annual Speedway Motors Tulsa Shootout, which will be held Dec. 31 to Jan. 3 at the River Spirit Expo Center in Tulsa.

“That is the toughest event of the year where people from across the country race,” he said. “We’ve gotten better each of the past two years there and I expect we will put together a strong run to start the 2015 season.”
