Inside Line Promotions – HUDSON, N.C. (Oct. 26, 2015) – Cody Freeman registered his first career top-10 finish in only his second pavement race.

Freeman rallied from 16th to post a ninth-place result last Saturday during his debut at Tri-County Motor Speedway, where he made his second career Southeast Super Truck Series start for Nesbitt Racing Enterprises.

“It went really well,” he said. “I want to thank Taylor Nesbitt for spotting for me and keeping me comfortable in the truck. Thanks to Mitchell Mote for being my crew chief as well as Lee McCallister, Tonya McCallister of McCallister Precision Marketing and Martin Nesbitt of Nesbitt Racing Enterprises for their support.”

Freeman tested last Thursday at Anderson Motor Speedway in Williamston, S.C., and Friday at Tri-County Motor Speedway in preparation for Saturday’s event, which Freeman kicked off by qualifying 16th quickest. That lined him up on the outside of the eighth row for the 75-lap main event.

“We started passing cars about every two laps and were up to 12th when the first caution came out,” he said. “I didn’t get a very good restart and lost a spot, but I worked my way up to eighth. We were running eighth on the final restart with about 12 laps remaining and I restarted on the inside lane. Unfortunately that lane didn’t go right away so I didn’t get a very good restart.”

Freeman battled back to capture his ninth-place finish, which added a boost of confidence.

“I’m very excited and happy with how it went,” he said. “We still have some things to figure out. We just need more seat time.”

Freeman is slated to return to micro sprint competition for Gengo Racing this Saturday at Gator Motorplex during the 12th annual Halloween Havoc.
