Inside Line Promotions – CLEVELAND, Texas (April 7, 2014) – Cody Freeman scored a podium finish during his first career race at Bronco Raceway Park last Saturday.

“I liked the track,” he said. “With the exception of one rut that formed in turn one, it was a pretty decent track.”

Freeman started the event by maneuvering his micro sprint from fourth to third place midway through his eight-lap heat race.

“We maintained the fourth position the first four laps and then ended up making a pass on the outside on the backstretch and carried enough momentum into turn three to complete the pass,” he said.

That placed Freeman third in overall points and earned him a spot on the inside of the second row for the 15-lap main event.

“The track stayed heavy all night,” he said. “I was too tight. In the turns I was loose in and tight off. It was binding everything up.”

Freeman got off to a good start by advancing to the runner-up position.

“Then I caught that rut, which really upset the car and I lost a position,” he said.

Freeman competed in third place for the remainder of the main event, which marked his second straight podium result.

“Entering my second year, we’re just trying to learn still,” he said. “We have a lot of setup work that we need to learn. That’s our biggest problem as a team. We aren’t comfortable with the setups. As soon as we get it, I think we’ll be a contender.”

Freeman is taking this weekend off before returning to action on April 19 at Gator Motorplex in Willis, Texas, for the 3rd annual Nolan Wren Memorial.
