Inside Line Promotions – GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (Sept. 29, 2014) – Cody Freeman powered to a podium finish last Friday at Mountain Creek Speedway following a couple of weekends off.

“We’re pleased with it, but it was a roller coaster,” he said. “We went out for hot laps. About two laps in the bolt that holds the front panhard bar broke. It caused the axle to come loose. It fell back against the frame and bent the axle.”

The team replaced the axle prior to the heat race, which Freeman started on the inside of the second row.

“We had a great start and went into turn one three wide,” he said. “With no setup on the front end I backed out of it a little bit. However, I took over second on the first lap and that’s where I ended up finishing.”

That lined Freeman up on the outside of the third row for the main event.

“I was still a little hesitant on the handling of the car,” he said. “It took a few laps to get used to it. Once I figure out how to drive it I took over fourth and then the third position about six laps into the race.”

Freeman spent a majority of the race in third place, which is where he finished. It marked his 13th top five of the season and continued his streak of finishing in the top five during every race at Mountain Creek Speedway this season.

The team is deciding this week whether to compete in Oklahoma this weekend or to stay close to home.
