Inside Line Promotions – GREENVILLE, Texas (July 7, 2015) – Cody Freeman earned his fourth podium finish of the season last Saturday at Superbowl Speedway, where he garnered a runner-up result in the restrictor class during the TOWR Series micro sprint feature.

“It was actually kind of a boring race,” he said. “I stayed in second and the first-place driver pulled away from all of us. He had a better gear in his car than us.”

Freeman opened the event by charging from sixth to second place during a heat race. That lined him up on the outside of the front row for the main event.

“The leader got a good start and kept getting further ahead each lap,” he said. “I just tried to hit my marks.”

The race felt like a slow pace for Freeman, who returned to the restrictor class following a pair of A Class races.

“It was kind of hard because I was telling myself to go faster, but I couldn’t,” he said. “Everything seemed slow.”

The podium finish leads Freeman into an off weekend before he returns to action on July 17-18 at Port City Raceway in Tulsa, Okla. He finished 14th at that track during both races he attempted last season.
