Freeman Scores Third Victory to Extend TOWR Championship Lead

Inside Line Promotions – GREENVILLE, Texas (Aug. 24, 2015) – Cody Freeman returned to Victory Lane on Saturday at Superbowl Speedway to garner his third micro sprint triumph of the season.

The win also boosted Freeman’s lead in the TOWR championship standings with only four races remaining this season.

“It was great to get another win, especially during a TOWR event,” he said. “We just have to continue to run well these final few races.”

Freeman kicked off Saturday’s event by finishing second in his heat race after starting on the pole.

“The guy on the outside got the jump on the start,” he said. “Then going into turn one third place passed me on the inside. I stayed in third the rest of the race, but the winner was disqualified so it bumped me up to second.”

That lined Freeman up on the outside of the second row for the 15-lap main event.

“I got up to third on the start,” he said. “It took me a while to get to second. I got by him on the inside when I had a good run coming out of turn two. First place was a straightaway ahead of us at that point. Luckily I got a caution about three laps later. On the restart I passed him going into turn one.”

A late-race caution set up a green-white-checkered finish with Freeman in the lead.

“I saw second place going into turn one, but that was it,” he said. “I just had to hit my marks, which I did.”

Freeman will be back in action with the TOWR Series this Friday at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco, Texas.
