Inside Line Promotions – GREENVILLE, Texas (Sept. 7, 2016) – Cody Freeman wants to race.
The teenager hasn’t raced a lot this summer, but when he has strapped into his 600cc non-wing micro sprint he has shown he is a force to be reckoned with.
Freeman returned to the seat last Saturday at Superbowl Speedway for the first time in a month and a half and only the second time since the middle of April.
Freeman placed seventh in a heat race, which lined him up on the outside of the fourth row for the main event.
“In the feature I spun out on the first lap so we restarted 14th,” he said. “I got back up to seventh or eighth and raced around there the rest of the feature. I was pleased with how well we ran. I just need more laps.”
Freeman ended with a ninth-place result, which was his fourth top 10 of the season.
He said he plans to race a few more times in the coming weeks before concentrating on the Tulsa Shootout at the Tulsa Expo Raceway in Tulsa, Okla., in January.
“I can’t thank my dad and family enough for all they do for me,” Freeman said. “It’s good to get a top 10 when we haven’t raced very often recently. Hopefully we’ll keep improving with the more races we are able to run.”
